Stir-Fry Boccoli with Minced Pork

This stir-fried broccoli brings a magical savory dish that everyone likes to eat. It is easy to cook and a hearty dish that even the kids will have enough to please. It could be cooked with minced garlic alone as a side dish or also good with meat and seafood as a main dish. Most Chinese people cook it in a very simple and easy, just stir-fry it with garlic and it is already delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large bunch brocolli
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 2 tbsps oyster sauce
  • 100 g minced pork
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper

Cooking Procedures:

  1. Trim the florets off the broccoli and cut them into 1 1/2 to 2-inch pieces. Peel the stalks of the broccoli and remove the tough outer skin, slice in diagonal. Wash the broccoli properly.
  2. Boil 2 cups of water, and add a pinch of salt. Blanch broccoli for 2 minutes. Drain.
  3. In a pan, heat cooking oil. Saute garlic until golden brown but not burn. Add minced pork, season with a pinch of salt and pepper, and keep stirring. Add blanched broccoli, oyster sauce, and sugar. Mix thoroughly. Season to taste.

Cooking Tips:

  1. This vegetable is dense, blanching is the perfect way to jump-start the cooking process which takes a while to cook especially in a stir-fry.
  2. Soak broccoli florets in salt water.
  3. Do not overcook or else it will turn soggy.
