Pinoy-style Hotcake

Filipino style pancake is often sold in streets outside schools and busy intersections. Cheap and tasty, we loved the generous lather of margarine and sugar. Let's cook it then!

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 8 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp yellow food coloring

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients except butter and margarine
  • Heat margarine on a pan
  • Place 1/3 cup of mixed ingredients on a pan then cover and leave for a minute.
  • Turn it up side down and leave for half a minute
  • Remove from heat
  • Put margarine and sprinkle white sugar on top
