Adobong sitaw is a string bean vegetable cooked with pork flavoring with the sauce combination of soy sauce and vinegar.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb string beans (sitaw), cut in 2 inch length
- 1/2 lb pork (belly or spareribs)
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 medium-sized onion, sliced lengthwise
- 3-4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3/4 cup of water
Marinade: Pork
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
Procedure:
- Wash and cut pork and marinate it for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat a frying pan or wok then sear the pork.
- When oil and juice comes out of the pork, add garlic and onions then saute for for 2 minutes.
- Pour-in the soy sauce, vinegar, and water then bring to a boil.
- Put -in the ground black pepper and stir.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until the pork is tender.
- Add the string beans and cook for another 5 minutes. Taste it and add the necessary to add.
- Put it in the platter and serve with rice.
Tips:
Remember! In order to have a great taste of adobo is to have balance and perfect mixtures of the spices. You can also to make it dry or leave with the gravy.
