Adobong Sitaw with Pork

Adobong sitaw is a string bean vegetable cooked with pork flavoring with the  sauce combination of soy sauce and vinegar.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb string beans (sitaw), cut in 2 inch length
  • 1/2 lb pork (belly or spareribs)
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 medium-sized onion, sliced lengthwise
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup of water
Marinade: Pork
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
Procedure:
  • Wash and cut pork and marinate it for at least 10 minutes.
  •  Heat a frying pan or wok then sear the pork.
  •  When oil and juice comes out of the pork, add garlic and onions  then saute for for 2 minutes.
  •  Pour-in the soy sauce, vinegar, and water then bring to a boil.
  •  Put -in the ground black pepper and stir.
  •  Cover and simmer for 15  minutes or until the pork is tender.
  • Add the string beans and cook for another 5 minutes. Taste it and add the necessary to add.
  • Put it in the platter and serve with rice.

Tips:

Remember! In order to have a great taste of adobo is to have balance and perfect mixtures of the spices. You can also to make it dry or leave with the gravy.
